Wren & Stimpy: Update #1 (7/16-7/26)

In the first update of this series, we saw Yunel Escobar hit his first two dingers of the 2010 campaign and post a ridiculous .359/.390/.564/.403 vital line (AVG/OBP/SLG/wOBP) over his first 42 trips to the plate with the Blue Jays. This line accounted for an impressive 2.7 weighted runs above average. Go, Yunel.

Down in Atlanta, Alex Gonzalez’s .394 BABIP aided him to the tune of a .325/.400/.475/.479 line over 45 plate appearances. Contributing 2 wRAA along the way, small-picture Braves fans have nothing to complain about re: Gonzalez.

Both short stops actually raised their respective wOBP since the trade: Escobar from .291 to .304; Gonzalez from .341 to .345.

Check back next week for more, yo.
